My Obession with Tea Shops

My Obession with Tea Shops

Hello my name is Megan and I am obsessed with tea shops.

Ever since I was very little I have wanted to open a small tea shop and sell cakes and drinks on little quaint mis-matched vintage crockery. Aaaah the delusional dream of a little British girl. Although my aspirations have changed slightly, I still adore everything from Afternoon tea, to bacon pancakes served up in the local tea shops.

When my friends say they want to meet up in town it’s always one of my first thoughts! I mean why not?

– They’re fun and different from an over-priced starbucks

– They’re so cute and vintage ~ perfect for Instagram

– The food (and drink) is so nice

So therefore I thought I (with my refined tastes and local knowledge) would show you guys the best of the best places to get  a very british taste:

Sometimes the simple things in life are worth noting

1. The feeling of clean, crisp new sheets.

2. Warm sand between your toes.

3. Seeing someone you love for the first time in such a long time.

4. Your first sip of coffee on a cold morning.

5. Walking in the grass without any shoes on.

6. Sticking to something ~ a workout regime, a plan, a promise .

7. Dancing till your feet hurt without any inhibitions.

8. Hearing your favourite song unexpectedly.

TodayBeas our last day in the City and our last day at the amazing Four Seasons on the Boshporus river πŸ˜₯

We started the day with an amazing breakfast boat ride (I only wished it went a little faster) and then travelled to AlaΓ§ati – a beautiful market town that features ancient aspects with a bustling holiday town vibe.

Istanbul Travel Diary ~ PHOTO DAY 1

I promised I would post a photo every day on here of my travels and that starts today!!

Although I have only just travelled to my Nans today because she lives very near to Heathrow whereas it’s much farther from my house.

So today was just a car travel kind of day. Here’s today’s instalment 😊

Sunny Skies to Heathrow

I also wanted to put a photo in from the Give pease a chance bridge πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰ so:

Green Tea? Green Tea

Green Tea? Green Tea

Ok so I’m guessing you’ve heard this before but…

Green tea is really good for you

According to the NHS :

Green tea contains B vitamins, folate (naturally occurring folic acid), manganese, potassium, magnesium, caffeine and other antioxidants (notably catechins).

SO to hopefully try and inspire you to try green tea (admittedly I have only started drinking about 3 weeks ago and not very regularly unfortunately – but hey! I’m a teenager what it regular in my life!) I am going to introduce you to my TOP 3 GREEN TEAS which are top because they are relatively affordable versus some of those on the market and because they taste SO DAMN GOOD – so you’ll actually want to drink them rather than treat it as more of a chore.  Read more

Shopping for Summer

Shopping for Summer

Ok, so I don’t know about you but ever since January I’ve been dreaming of my summer wardrobe. I’ve just been fantasising about holidays, the beach, the sun, that relaxed feeling of sitting poolside in the sun… Anyway since my family are escaping to the sun a little earlier this year in that we are jetting of to Turkey in the Summer half-term break (YESSSS!). The good news is  cant wait to firstly exploring the streets of an extremely interesting city and secondly lounge by the sea in the sun (hopefully!), the bad news is that first I have to get through my practice exams, and since I’m in my first year of GCSEs I know it can only get worse 😦

So since I get an early chance to kick out my summer clothing it has only increased my dreams. When my grandparents took me out shopping one day whilst I was staying with them I got an amazing chance to shop!

Ok so I am a self-confessed bargain lover, and since my parents don’t give me any allowance or something like that ( they do occasionally give me some cash tho) I tend to be a saver and rarely like spending huge amounts. I even go so far as to order a Small Mocha when at Starbucks with my friends rather than whatever ‘Triple Caramel Frappucino with extra cream’ (actual order from one of my friends ;P ). I don’t mean to sound rude or anything, I know I am privileged to go to the school I go to and that most of my friends envy my house, it’s just ingrained in me that whatever you’re spending money on, should be worth the money and if you can get the same thing cheaper somewhere else, I’ll probably go there.

This means that I like to shop at places like New Look and Primark – STOP I CAN PRACTICALLY HERE THE GROANS FROM HERE AT MY DESK. I happen to think that if you look in Primark you can find incredibly priced, lovely clothes.

  • ACTUALLY One time me and my mum were shopping at Westfield on a girls day and my mum picked out a statement style necklace from Primark, it looked really pretty I cant blame her. Once home the next day I got an email newsletter from FOREVER 21 (yes I do subscribe to tons of those things) and as part of their Mother’s Day gifts selection that year they had THE VERY SAME NECKLACE that my mum had bought. They must have both ought from the same suppliers.

The Price?

PRIMARK: Β£6

FOREVER 21: around the Β£15 mark

So that goes to show it….

Anyway where even was I? Oh yes,

My Grandparents took me into House of Fraser where I was surrounded by brands that are normally out of my comfort zone and well… I relished it! I want to say first of course, that I have done my fair share of shopping and it wasn’t like I’ve never seen a higher end retailer before (Duh!). Its just that I don’t normally shop there.

Anyway I picked out and tried on 2 beautiful maxi dresses from the brand WAREHOUSE which carried my new favourite colour and style this spring and the material was just beautiful! (Of course this was reflected in the price but ah! ). I also picked out some other lovely items as well πŸ˜€

Its safe to say that my mood increased by about 2000%

IF YOU WANT TO SEE EXACTLY WHAT I PICKED UP STAY TUNED… :p
